The homebuilder’s first division in the Pacific Northwest is led by veteran industry executive Fred Gast and a team with decades of placemaking experience in the region.
PORTLAND, Oregon (April 3, 2023) – New Home Co. today announced a strategic expansion into the Portland market with the opening of its Oregon division, its first in the Pacific Northwest.
Since its founding in 2009, New Home Co. has expanded throughout the western United States and has received countless industry awards recognizing its architectural excellence, thoughtful
design, land planning and customer service. The launch of its division in Oregon reflects New Home Co.’s commitment to strategic growth and scalable efficiency in building homes in the markets it serves.
Veteran homebuilding executive Fred Gast will lead the Oregon operations as partner and president. Prior to New Home Co., Gast served as a principal partner and Oregon division president of Polygon Northwest until the company was acquired by William Lyon Homes in 2014. Following the acquisition, he continued to lead the Oregon division for three more years while doubling the size of the business.
In his 20-plus years of experience, Gast developed four master-planned communities and thousands of homes, including an apartment portfolio of 2000+ units, townhomes, condominiums, and single-family homes. In addition, he is responsible for numerous mixed-use apartment projects in California and Oregon.

New Home Co.’s first two neighborhoods in Oregon are well underway. At the popular master-planned community of River Terrace in Tigard, the company will offer two residential collections at Axiom : Townhomes and Single-Family Residences.
The townhomes will feature up to 1,592 square feet, priced from the low $400,000s. The single-family residences will offer up to 2,712 square feet of living space and priced from the high $500,000s.
In addition to the for-sale neighborhoods, which will be the final new homes in River Terrace, New Home Co. has thoughtfully designed and will build the River Terrace Towne Center, expected to emerge as the focal point of the masterplan. The Towne Center is planned to include shops, restaurants, and specialty businesses, and will be surrounded by approximately 200 luxury rental apartments.
The Vineyard by New Home Co. is taking shape alongside Cooper Mountain in the highly desirable community of Beaverton. With two view-oriented new-home offerings, The Vineyard will offer a mix of housing including townhomes and single-family homes. The two- and three- bedroom townhomes will feature up to 1,588 square feet, priced from the low $400,000s. The spacious single-family homes will offer up to 2,935 square feet and priced from the high $500,000s.
Located within immediate proximity of the brand-new Mountainside High School, residents of The Vineyard will have access to the award-winning Beaverton School District. Views of Mt.
