New Home Co. Continues Expansion into Pacific Northwest with Launch of Washington Division and First Community in Scenic North Bend

The opening of its Washington division is part of New Home Co.’s plan for strategic growth by building attainable homes near strong employment centers.

BELLEVUE, Washington (May 17, 2023) – New Home Co. today announced a continued expansion into the Pacific Northwest with the opening of its Washington division. Last month, the Irvine, California-based homebuilder and land developer unveiled its division in Oregon.

Veteran homebuilding executive Brandon Scheibner will lead the Washington operations as division president. Scheibner has almost three decades of homebuilding experience in the Pacific Northwest. Prior to New Home Co., he served as regional president of William Lyon Homes, responsible for the development of single-family homes, townhomes and mixed-use communities in Washington, Oregon and California.

“Brandon has all of the strengths and market knowledge we need to be successful in Washington,” said New Home Co. Chief Executive Officer, Matthew R. Zaist. “His experience, relationships and attention to detail will give us a leg up in securing land in the best locations and in delivering high quality homes that the region needs.”

New Home Co.’s first neighborhood in Washington is scheduled to break ground in June. In the scenic town of North Bend, the company will build Rivercrest, a collection of 80 stacked flats. The attached homes, built in eight residential buildings of 10 residences each, will feature floorplans ranging from 648 square feet to 1,137 square feet with up to three bedrooms and up to two bathrooms. Each building will have up to eight single-car garages, each with a driveway to accommodate another car, ensuring all homes have a reserved parking space. Pricing has not been established, but the homes will be attainable and expected to be below the comparable market.

Located in the foothills of the Cascade Range, North Bend is close to I-90 and the employment centers of Bellevue, Redmond and Kirkland, and just 30 miles east of Seattle. Future residents of Rivercrest at North Bend will be surrounded by lakes, parks and trails, with easy access to the 32-mile-long Snoqualmie Valley Trail, Tanner Landing Park, the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie River and the new Dahlgren Family Park.

“Every community we build in Washington will be in a desirable, well-established location that is close to jobs and where opportunities to offer homes at a compelling value exist,” said Scheibner. “We’re going to move fast, starting with construction at Rivercrest at North Bend where homes will be available in early 2024. We also expect to close on land transactions this year that will bring hundreds of more homes to the east side of Seattle in the next 12 to 18 months.”
